An unplanned ride on Sunday turned out to be a pleasant way to spend a June day. We decided after a hearty late breakfast on Sunday to keep riding. We headed north on Hwy. 1 and then veered off on Hwy. 119 to follow Cane River on the National Heritage Trail. The road winds alongside the Cane River for miles and passes in front of many historic sites. We stopped at two of those, Magnolia and Oakland, both National Historic Parks.
